Bpositive Festival huge success
6:10pm Friday 13th September 2013 in News
THE inaugural Bpositive Festival, supporting a charity started by Bromsgrove man Jonjo Rooney, has been hailed a success.
The recent event, held in Wychbold, featured a mix of musical acts including local performers Anya Sweeney and Ben Howell from Redditch and raised £1,000.
The money will go toward Bpositive, a support network connecting patients, families and friends affected by acute leukaemia, started by Mr Rooney, 29, earlier this year.
The aim is to provide support, information and access as well as promote the cause and case of patients with acute leukaemia.
Mr Rooney, who battled acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in 2006, said the festival was a great experience.
"The event really couldn't have gone better,” he said.
“The weather was fantastic and everyone who came was in great spirits and we managed to raise a great deal of money for the charity.”
He added that the money raised will go toward helping Bpositive become officially registered as a charity, something that costs £5,000.
