TEAM members from a Droitwich Spa store have scaled new heights to raise almost £600 for charity.

Workers from Wilkinson, St Andrews Square, took on an abseil challenge in aid of the firm’s regional charity of the year, Midland Air Ambulance.

Daredevils Dawn Pearson, assistant store manager, and Susan McDonnell, assistant till supervisor, bravely abseiled 120ft down the side of Birmingham’s House of Fraser store on May 19.

The abseil is part of a series of events held by the Droitwich store to raise vital funds for the charity which provides emergency medical treatment.

Following the abseil, Dawn Pearson said: “I have to admit we were both nervous when we got to the top of the building, but once we got going we thoroughly enjoyed it and we’re so glad we took part.

“We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our sponsors and the support from our loyal customers, which has helped us raise a great amount of money for the Midland Air Ambulance charity.”
