DROITWICH Spa Marina has now been officially opened.

The site, which has been welcoming boats since last spring, was created to take advantage of the £12 million restoration of the town’s canal network.

A plaque was officially unveiled at the facility by Councillor Robert Adams, Chairman of Worcestershire County Council, on Friday, April 26. He was joined by other civic heads including Mayor of Droitwich Spa, Councillor Anne Taft, and chairman of Wychavon District Council, Councillor Richard Morris.

An open day was then held on Saturday to show the public and boaters how much has been achieved by the family-run business over the last year.

Located just off Junction 5 of the M5, the marina is ideally situated to commute north or south of the country, whilst still being rural enough to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Worcestershire. It is also within walking distance of Droitwich Spa.
