RUGBY fans showed their support for Worcester Warriors and St Richard’s Hospice during the first Pie and Pint Rugby Walk.

The new event, which took place on Sunday, April 21, saw 104 walkers stroll five miles from Droitwich Rugby Club to Sixways, Worcester, in time for the Warriors versus Harlequins game.

The walkers enjoyed the flat, two hour scenic route along canal towpaths, passing three country pubs.

St Richard’s fundraiser Jodi Brandwood said@ “We are very pleased with our first Pie, Pint and Rugby walk and hope to have raised around £5,000. We had a great turnout, everyone enjoyed the route and the weather was most definitely on our side."

Jodi added that if anyone missed the event or took part and would like to walk another canal side route they can sign up for the Waterways Walk on August 4.
