MORE than 60 people supported a Fairtrade coffee morning in Droitwich Spa.

The event was held at Droitwich Methodist Church, Worcester Road, on Saturday, February 23.

The sale of more than £200 of Fairtrade goods helped raise £76 for charity Traidcraft Exchange.

Amongst the guests was Mayor of Droitwich, Councillor Anne Taft, who had the important job of judging the children’s banana decorating competition. Children attending the event were given yellow card bananas to colour and decorate. The winner was Lucy Jessop.

Jean Auty, secretary of the Droitwich Fairtrade Group, said: “We were delighted by the response to the coffee morning. It was great to see so many people supporting Fairtrade in the town.”
