ADVENTUROUS students from Droitwich are set to discover the natural wonders of Iceland.
A group of 40 pupils from Droitwich Spa High School, Briar Mill, will head to the country on Tuesday, March 26.
The trip, for year 11, 12 and 13 students, has been organised by Miss Jenny Ruddick from the school’s geography department.
Pupils will spend three nights in the capital Reykjavik and one night on the coast as they attempt to see the Northern Lights.
Activities during the trip will also include a swim in the Blue Lagoon thermal pool, whale watching, a glacier walk and a visit to an ice bar.
Miss Ruddick said: “I am really looking forward to returning to such a geologically and geographically exciting place. This is a wonderful opportunity for the students to have the experience of a lifetime in one of the world’s most extraordinary places."
Over the past decade, Droitwich Spa High School has sent students to America, Africa, New Zealand and to India. In 2011 Iceland was added to the list of countries.
