Residents invited to mark World Book Day Residents invited to mark World Book Day

PEOPLE of all ages in Droitwich Spa are being invited to help mark World Book Day.

The town’s library in Victoria Square and schools in the area will be holding activities on Thursday, March 7 and throughout the week.

The library will present a rhythm and rhyme event on Wednesday, March 6 when children will be invited to attend in animal fancy dress. Prizes will be awarded for the best costume.

On Saturday, March 9, staff will be sharing their favourite stories during two special story time sessions. Computer games will be available all day to play, and a copy of a Tom Gates novel, signed by author Liz Pichon, is on offer as a prize in a colouring competition.

Worcestershire County Council's literacy and reading manager, Ruth Foster, said: "World Book Day is a fantastic opportunity for us to celebrate our love of books and reading. We would be delighted to see people of all ages visiting their local library to take part in the range of activities which libraries are hosting."
