A SERVICE has been held to mark the 75th anniversary of the building of Droitwich Spa Methodist Church.

Civic dignitaries attended the event on Sunday, January 27 to celebrate the Worcester Road site’s construction in 1938.

The congregation was joined by Mrs Penelope Lewis, the High Sheriff of Worcestershire, Councillor Richard Morris, Chairman of Wychavon District Council and Councillor Anne Taft, mayor of Droitwich Spa.

Minister Rev Jane Wilson said: “We were very pleased that our special guests were able to join us for this anniversary service which launches a programme of events planned during 2013.

“Our next special service marks national marriage week on February 10 at 10.30am, when couples who were married at the church are invited to join us to celebrate.”

Anyone married at the church and wants to attend the event can email droitwichmethodistchurch@btinternet.com or call 01905 774188.
