THREE people have been injured, one seriously after a crash in Droitwich this morning.

The crash occurred near to Hadley Bowling Green Inn, Hadley, at around 12.30am. Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, a paramedic officer and a BASICS Doctor attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a car that had left the road and been in collision with a tree. The car had suffered substantial damage and the rear seat passenger was trapped in the vehicle for around one hour.

“The passenger, a 19 year old man, suffered serious pelvic injuries. His condition was stabilised and he received pain relief at the scene. The man was extricated from the vehicle and immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board.

“The man was transferred by land ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Major Trauma Unit for further emergency treatment. The hospital had been pre alerted to the man's arrival and his injuries.

“The two other men who were travelling in the car, both suffered multiple minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Both men declined further hospital treatment.

“Considering the damage to the vehicle, the men were fortunate not to have suffered more serious injuries.”
