WORCESTERSHIRE Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is looking for a finance expert to join the board as a non-executive director.

Lots of people want to do something extra in their spare time. For someone with a recognised financial qualification and senior board level experience, joining an NHS Trust board is a way of using their expertise to make a difference to their local community.

The trust is looking for someone with strategic and financial experience and community focus, who can plan ahead and contribute to the strategy of an organisation that cares for 2,000 patients every day.

Board members commit a minimum of 2.5 days per month to NHS duties, as well as attending public meetings and preparing by reading papers and packs.

More information and an application pack is available from worcsacute.nhs.uk

Harry Turner, trust board chairman, said: “I came from the private sector to join the board in November 2010.

“It’s an incredibly challenging time for the NHS, but it’s inspiring to think about what you’re contributing to as a member of an acute trust board.

“I’d encourage anyone from a professional background to get involved, you can call us for an informal discussion about the role on 01905 733 960.”
