Exciting start for young ace

BROMSGROVE speedster Scott Mead (pictured) made a brilliant start to his Thundersport GB Super Teens Championships career at Cadwell Park.

The youngster got off to a nervous start in Saturday's warm-up, losing the front end of his bike after a crash.

After some repair work, he started 27th on the grid and he made a good start to eventually finish 24th out of the 48 riders.

Riders are split in the second race depending on their qualifying times, and up against 23 riders, Mead started ninth on the grid.

Again he made a brilliant start moving up three places into the first corner, eventually making his move to take fourth place.

On Sunday, against a full grid of 48 in the first race, Mead came in 16th place after starting in 27th, knocking seven seconds off his lap times from the previous day.

Ninth on the grid of 23 for race two, Mead race straight up to fourth before making his move to grab second spot.
