A MOVING puppet show will be performed at the Palace Theatre as part of the largest puppet festival in the country.
The Dynamics 09 International Puppet Festival runs from May 23-July 18 with 18 different shows on offer in more than 30 locations.
Puppets of wood, paper, recycled junk and even glass will be telling stories in booths, on shadow screens and on elaborately designed puppet stages both indoors and out across the Midlands.
The Palace is getting involved on Friday, May 29 at 11am when the charming tale of Red Riding Hood will be brought to life using “instant puppetry”.
Everyday objects will be transformed into characters and scenery before audience members eyes, alongside some surprising shadow play.
Wool, knitting needles, scissors, bobbins and all kinds of bits and pieces will be used to help tell the story of the little girl with the red cape and cap who meets a granny-eating wolf in the woods.
The show is recommended for families with children aged three to eight years and tickets can be purchased for £7.50 and £6 (concs) or £22 (family ticket) at the theatre or on 65203.
