TO mark the 10th anniversary of Thomas Land Drayton Manor Park will be hosting a number of celebratory events, money-can’t-buy competitions, and launching some not-to-be-missed special offers.

Europe’s only Thomas Land, and which is one of only three in the world, was launched at Drayton Manor in 2008.

Since then the multi-million-pound attraction has gone from strength to strength investing millions of pounds and adding top rides and attractions.

I was lucky enough to recently visit to celebrate the special milestone with a small, and very excited, party.

Redditch Advertiser:

From the moment you enter the gates to the Island of Sodor, you are completely immersed in the world of Thomas & Friends, based on the much-loved children's television series.

The attraction features character rides for both the young and the young at heart, including Thomas himself, Jeremy Jet’s Flying Academy, Harold’s Helicopter Tours, Troublesome Trucks Runaway Coaster, and many more.

There is also the newly refurbished Emily's Play Adventure which offers everyone the chance to continue the fun indoors if the British weather takes a turn.

However, there was no worry about that when we visited - the sun was well and truly out.

In fact the uncharacteristically hot weather was a great excuse to go on the water-based attractions, again and again!

Redditch Advertiser:

In addition, VIP rooms have also been added to Thomas Land in Sodor Airport, providing a great space for special occasions and celebrations.

On reaching the special milestone, William Bryan, managing director of Drayton Manor Park, said: “My grandparents established Drayton Manor to provide a space for our guests to create happy memories together, and introducing the much-loved Thomas Land attraction has helped us to provide families with even more opportunities to do so."

He added: "Thomas Land holds a special place in my family’s hearts as it has been an instrumental part of our journey and we have continued to grow from strength to strength as one of the UK’s most popular family days out."

From gentle rides for theme park first timers, to more adventurous ones for older Thomas fans, such as the Troublesome Trucks Runaway Coaster, there’s certainly something for everyone at Thomas Land - even grown ups.

Redditch Advertiser:

The young ones enjoyed the smaller rides and the indoor play area, but if that doesn’t sound like your thing there’s much more, from topsy-turvy mini rides to exciting sights from Sodor Airport.

During our trip we were also lucky enough to explore Drayton Manor Park and its 15-acre zoo.

It's fair to say that Drayton Manor features some of the wildest and scariest rides around, including Apocalypse, G-Force, Maelstrom, Pandemonium, Air Race, and Stormforce 10

This is where you can prove just how brave you really are.

Fortunately, going on the Troublesome Trucks was about as bold as this reviewer got.

If you're looking to spend more time at the park, there is even a four-star hotel on site featuring 150 rooms includes Thomas & Friends-themed rooms, all sleeping four to six guests.

During the stay each child also has the opportunity to have breakfast with their favourite Thomas Land characters and receives a complimentary goodie bag.

What else could you possibly want?!
