AS part Bromsgrove Festival Redditch Orchestra will be performing a concert of family favourites at the Artrix.

The orchestra, conducted by James Thomas, will be performing music from the big screen alongside memorable classics; Superman March, Haydn’s Toy Symphony and Prokofiev’s timeless children’s tale Peter & The Wolf, narrated by compère Graeme Rose.

Dorothy Wilson-Longfils, chairman of The Redditch Orchestra, said: "This concert, specifically designed for families, is a new venture for the Orchestra at Artrix.

"The fresh format of a concert aimed at young audiences is an ideal way for those who have never experienced a classical concert to enjoy this highly accessible music for the first time. We’re hoping to inspire the musicians and classical enthusiasts of the future.”

This concert, for ages four plus, is on July 8 at 2pm.

Families can enjoy opportunities to meet the instruments and their players up close in pre-concert activities in the foyer at the Artrix from 1pm.
