HEADING to Malvern for one night only is Michael Brandon’s brilliant one-man show.

He’ll take to the stage at the Festival Theatre on Thursday 24, May, with Off Ramps - which will cover his journey from Brooklyn to Britain via Hollywood with hilarious tales along the way.

He ‘lifts the lid,’ on various showbiz personalities including ex-wife and actress Lindsay Wagner, better known as the Bionic Woman, Al Pacino, Robert de Niro, Tony Curtis and Kim Novak, to name a few.

The show launched last year to rave reviews at the Edinburgh Festival.
Michael became well known in the UK for his part in the 80s TV show Dempsey and Makepeace, which propelled him to heartthrob status.

Since then he has appeared in a variety of shows and in 2004 was nominated for an Olivier as Best Actor in a Musical for the West End run of Jerry Springer, The Opera.

On screen he has starred in Captain America: The First Avenger, The Catherine Tate Show, Tracey (Ullman) Breaks The News and four seasons as Elliot Salad in the hit comedy Episodes, alongside Matt LeBlanc.

Inspired by the great comedian George Burns who suggested that Michael should do stand-up, he has finally decided to do just that.

“Off Ramps takes you on an intimate and funny journey through my life, which includes 50 years in show business. I was a boy from Brooklyn; who had a dream to get out of Brooklyn. A poor boy that wanted to be someone from somewhere! My life is a tumultuous and wild ride with many twists and Off Ramps along the way.”

Simon Fielder, the show’s producer added: “I was a huge fan of cop shows in the 70s and 80s and loved Dempsey and Makepeace.

“I’ve seen Michael in a number of films and TV programmes and have always found him powerful, engaging and convincing but I had no idea until I saw his show in Edinburgh last year just how very funny he is. I knew instantly that I wanted to produce his show so that everyone could see it”.

As well as appearing at the Festival Theatre in May he will be touring the UK in the autumn.
