IF there's one thing guaranteed to get you through the hustle and bustle of another week it's the prospect of a slap-up meal in a Miller & Carter Steakhouse.

The much anticipated Miller & Carter Steakhouse in Studley opened in July following an extensive refurbishment.

Located on Icknield Street Drive, the new restaurant is the first to open in Washford Mill, with views overlooking the River Arrow.

The premium steakhouse, known for pursuing the perfect steak, has already got a reputation for being one of the hottest new 'in places' for top class dining.

And it's a reputation well deserved, with a mouthwatering array of dishes.

The restaurant serves only premium-graded beef, sourced from carefully selected cattle reared on sustainable British and Irish farms, before being matured for at least 30 days.

A choice of 12 quality cuts, including a 30oz Longbone Tomahawk and an award-winning Sirloin, are then hand-prepared by a master butcher and grilled by specially trained chefs.

Bromsgrove Advertiser:

For a starter we shared garlic king prawns, cooked in garlic butter and served with toasted ciabatta which looked and tasted stunning.

For the main I'm a sucker for T-bone and porterhouse so I needed little excuse to go for the T-bone 20oz.

On one side a tender fillet, on the other a flavoursome sirloin, which was recommended at least medium rare.

I was rewarded with succulent, moist beef and, of course, the full monty of extras. Perfection.

My wife had the Sirloin 12oz.

It was a delicate flavour balanced with a firmer texture which she asked for rare.

Both mains were soft and juicy on the inside - exactly how we had asked for them and with beautiful presentation.

We had a glass of the Merlot Oyster Bay, again suggested by our friendly waiter which complemented the mains perfectly.

Despite being a very busy Friday night all the food was served quickly and all piping hot with nice presentation.

Bromsgrove Advertiser:

I am ashamed to admit we couldn't even manage one dessert between us.

If do you have a sweet tooth though, the rich chocolate brownie, served warm with vanilla bean ice cream, rich Belgian chocolate sauce would be an ideal way to end your meal, or fresh berries and sorbet meringue for something more refreshing.

The entire meal was tremendous and nothing was too much trouble for the more than accommodating staff.
