ONE of Tchaikovsky’s most famous compositions and a popular Christmas ballet presentation, The Nutcracker, will be brought to life by Ballet Theatre UK this November at the Palace Theatre Redditch.

This well-loved traditional Christmas ballet will be performed in a unique setting with 24 international dancers, from companies around the world.

The production combines exquisite costumes, enchanting choreography and breath-taking scenery.

To this is added Tchaikovsky's most loved and unforgettable musical score which creates an atmosphere of fantasy and illusion which in turn, enhances the beauty of The Nutcracker story.

The Nutcracker is based on the story The Nutcracker and the King of Mice written by ETA Hoffman.

It tells the tale of a young and rather dejected little girl named Marie, who is given the gift of a nutcracker doll by her uncle Drosslemeyer.

In this, the most traditional of tales, Clara and The Nutcracker travel together to the Land of the Sweets where the Sugar Plum Fairy is reunited with her prince - and where the magic of Christmas is born.

She also battles with a mouse king, dances with snow flakes and falls in love along the way.

A spokesman said: "With grand sets and stunning costumes, The Nutcracker promises to be a highlight on the Christmas calendar for the whole family.

Ballet Theatre UK’s Nutcracker is sure to leave you with a sense of warmth and treasured memories that will last a lifetime."

The show is on Saturday, November 11 from 7.30pm.
