THIS summer, the National Trust at Coughton Court is delighted to announce the return of Illyria which will be bringing its larger than life production of The Lost World to Coughton’s beautiful gardens.

The play is on Saturday, August 19.

In Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic tale four intrepid explorers travel to an uncharted plateau in South America where they find flora and fauna beyond their wildest dreams, become involved in tribal warfare between apemen and indigenous humans, and encounter terrifying dinosaurs previously believed to be extinct.

But what evidence can they produce to prove that these creatures actually exist?

Unless, of course, they bring live specimens back to London. What could possibly go wrong?

Illyria has an unmatched reputation for innovation in the open-air touring theatre sector, and are the first company to tackle a show in this genre and of this scope.

A spokesman from Coughton Court said: "Illyria promises prehistoric thrills, monster laughs and life-size dinosaurs in the must-see show of the summer. Recommended for older children and families. Don’t forget to bring a picnic."

Illyria’s performance of The Lost World will be taking place on Saturday, August 19 with gates opening at 6.30pm for a 7.30pm start.
