WHILE most clubs and societies close down for the summer there’s one Redditch Society that’s still going full tilt.

Feckenham’s FeckenOdeon Cinema Society is carrying on regardless with monthly shows at Feckenham Village Hall.

Members have installed air conditioning to keep the screenings cool and there are refreshing cold drinks on tap from the cinema bar.

The summer season is half way through and the next film, on Friday, July 14, is Lion – the moving true story of an Indian youngster who is accidentally separated from his family and who finds himself adopted and transported to a new life on another continent.

As a young man he feels compelled to seek out his real family… and he does this through a computer mapping service.

Dev Patel plays the young man and Nicole Kidman is his adoptive mother.

Next up on 18th August is Bullitt – the Steve McQueen thriller with those amazing San Francisco car chases – and then it’s time to begin the FeckenOdeon’s main programme in September.

The programme kicks off with Tom Hanks in Sully and continues with a varied programme of classics and new films.

The full programme can be seen at feckenodeon.co.uk

Real film buffs can take out a membership and see the all the movies at a reduced price while occasional visitors are equally welcome.

Tickets and subscriptions are available through the website or by calling 0333 666 3366.

The FeckenOdeon Cinema Society is an entirely voluntary, not for profit society that aims to present the best films to a high technical standard in a comfortable cinema setting.
