ONE of the UK's biggest celebrations of food and drink, the visual and culinary feast that is Foodies Festival, is returning to Birmingham.

The festival, which boasts a number of attractions such as creative Summer workshops, a cakes and desserts theatre, and wine, gin, rum and craft beer masterclasses, promises to be the best yet.

A spokesman from the three-day event, said: "We are thrilled to announce that Candice Brown, winner of Great British Bake Off 2016, lippy in one hand and spatula in the other, will be baking up a storm in our cakes and desserts theatre for two demonstrations at our Birmingham Foodies Festival."

Candice said: "I'm excited to return Foodies Festival for eight of their festivals across the UK this summer, with two baking demonstrations a day giving me the chance to share my favourite recipes with so many of my fans and fellow bakers."

From Great British Bake Off winners to baking extraordinaire Charlotte White, master chocolatier Fiona Sciolti and top local cake-makers and patisserie chefs, the cakes and desserts theatre 2017 is set to be a popular feature.

This re-named theatre is set to expand to include not only top local bakers but also local chefs renowned for their outstanding desserts.

From delectable desserts to show-stopping cake towers, these chefs and bakers will be inspiring visitors to reach for their spatulas and whisks at home to recreate their delicious summer bakes.

Other highlights will include a drinks theatre, street food avenue, artisan producers market, a kids cookery school, and live music, restaurant tents, and pop-up bars.

If all that isn't enough there will be a VIP (including at red carpet welcome) experience.

The event will be at Birmingham's Cannon Hill Park on June 23, 24 and 25.
