MOVIE buffs can discover some of the science and secrets behind the films when the Hollywood Special Effects Show arrives in Bromsgrove next month.

The show provides a revealing insight into the world of special effects and promises to be both interactive and explosive.

Suitable for all the family, audiences are taken on an exciting journey as they feel the heat of an onstage inferno, marvel at gruesome sci-fi monsters and prepare to be blown away by apocalyptic weather and huge explosions.

Such is the large amount of pyrotechnics used, that bullet proof glass has to be placed across the stage to help protect the audience during some sequences.

The event also includes an animatronic dinosaur which was specially constructed in Japan while the large air cannon used in the finale is capable of firing a projectile more than 500 metres.

The Hollywood Special Effects Show takes place at Artrix on Tuesday, August 2 at 7pm and on Wednesday, August 3 at both 2pm and 7pm.

Tickets can be obtained from artrix.co.uk or the box office on 01527 577330.
