A SPECIAL exhibition looking at the life of artist Norman Neasom, born in Birchensale in Redditch, has opened at Bromsgrove's Artrix.

His career spanned from the 1930s to his death in 2010.

As a younger man, the Spanish Civil War, the shadow of Fascism and World War II were echoed in his images.

Later works celebrate the English countryside and the human condition.

The exhibit, part of the venue's aim to bring the best in challenging new work to Bromsgrove in a monthly exhibitions programme of 2D, 3D and mixed media artwork, runs from now until July 10.

Admission is free and is open 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday and on performance evenings.
