GETTING set to celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Malvern Autumn Show will return this September with a feast of family entertainment, artisan produce, and food and gardening royalty.

The harvest show of the season - in association with Weston’s Cider Visitor Centre - will showcase the best seasonal food and gardening in the stunning setting at the foot of the Malvern Hills - the Three Counties Showground.

Ken Nottage, CEO of the Three Counties Agricultural Society, said: “Malvern Autumn invites visitors to be inspired by the season. It’s a glorious showcase of harvest produce and gathering in the fruits of the summer, truly celebrating the wealth of the area. We look forward to welcoming families, foodies and garden lovers alike to the ultimate harvest festival.”

Renowned chef, Valentine Warner will headline the event’s Good Life Pavilion, hot off the heels of his hit BBC 2 show and accompanying book, What To Eat Now. Bang on topic, the series follows his journey through the best autumnal food. The top chef will be bringing his signature cooking style of seasonal, simple, robust and flavoursome food to live cookery demonstrations.

Joining Valentine, BBC Gardeners’ World presenter Joe Swift will take to the stage to share his expert gardening and growing knowledge.

Firmly bringing together gardening and food, Otter Farm’s Mark Diacono will share cooking advice fresh from his farm kitchen, while the Good Life Pavilion will feature a huge allotment through which visitors can meander and pull up a perch to share top tips on preparing produce from plot to plate. Jim Buttress will also join Mark here from his BBC’s hit show The Big Allotment Challenge.

Visitors to the show will be able to browse over 50 top exhibits in the RHS Flower Show and purchase top quality plants from these award-winning nurseries. Each year, the show proves a one-stop destination for gardeners in search of advice for preparing and restocking their gardens for the winter months.

More Floral Art entries than ever before will also be on display and visitors will be able to immerse themselves in over 70 submissions – and counting. Designs will be focused around varying themes including colour explosion, fascinating foliage, little treasures and seasonal swag.

The UK National Giant Vegetable Championship promises to return bigger and better than ever before with a broad variety of oversized vegetables. In 2014, this area of the show smashed two vegetable world records and this year is set to be no exception. A giant cabbage weighed in at over 130lb and a scale-breaking 1,200lb pumpkin - both by Cornishman, David Thomas, broke 2014 records.

Nostalgia and retro fans can discover hidden gems in the Vintage Village with an array of eclectic finds including fashion, homewares, classic cars and more. Thirsty visitors can seek out a tipple at the pop-up Westons Cider Visitors Centre. This area of the show offers a cider bar and garden, along with Hereford Cattle from their own award-winning herd. The Orchard Pavilion & Hop Yard will also celebrate the region’s finest cider, perry and beer with an overwhelming array of apples, pears and hops.

The show’s Food & Drink Hall will be overflowing with artisan producers. At its heart will be a live kitchen welcoming a bustling line up of local chefs throughout the day including foraging favourite, Liz Knight. The Women’s Institute will also lead The Village Show in this area, which will celebrate the finest examples of home baking and crafts including Victoria Sponge and Jam classes and for young budding bakers, rock buns and 100th Year Birthday Cards. This area is open to all skill levels.

There will be plenty of activities for children including dray rides, getting up close to furry friends in the World of Animals, a Discovery Zone hosting interactive educational activities, bread making, along with a thrilling arena of adrenaline-fuelled shows from equestrian display team, the Galloping Acrobats, dog agility and gun dogs.

The Harvest Pavilion will welcome the largest Home Grown Show in the history of harvest events. This area will see over 1,500 exhibits from budding growers, along with the RHS specialists theatre and more than 20 national plant societies.
