MOSELEY Folk Festival will return to the leafy suburb of Moseley for its 10th anniversary next month.

Set in the idyllic setting of Moseley private park the festival has become a stalwart of the Birmingham summer calendar with festival goers travelling from all over to catch some of the world’s biggest artists in a beautiful, intimate setting.

Over the past 10 years the festival has attracted some of the biggest names in Folk (and beyond) including Johnny Marr, The Waterboys, Ocean Colour Scene, Echo & The Bunnymen, Billy Bragg, Richard Thompson, Jose Gonzalez and Tinariwen, to name only a few, and this year is no different.

The opening night will see former Spaceman 3 cadet Jason Pierce make the short journey from his home in Warwickshire to Moseley park with his psychedelic outfit Spiritualized.

The highly influential space rock band who landed NME’s Album of the Year award in 1997 for their critically acclaimed Ladies and Gentlemen We are Floating in Space will be joined by Anna Calvi, John Smith, Du Blonde, The Pictish Trail, Blossoms, and Joseph Summers among others.

The Saturday night will be headlined by folk hero, Roddy Woomble’s, indie band Idlewild.

Idlewild recently returned with Everything Ever Written which marked their first studio album in six years.

They will be joined by Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes, The Cadbury Sisters, Sivu, Andy Shauf and Eliza Shaddad as well as others.

The Sunday night will erupt into 10th year anniversary celebrations with one of the biggest artists to grace the Moseley Folk stage yet; The Monkees… yes the actual Monkees.

The Sunday line up is completed by The Unthanks, Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick, Goodnight Lenin, Josienne Clarke and Ben Walker, and many more.
