AN ever-popular event and fun family day out will be returning to Arrow Valley Countryside Park this month.

Redditch Borough Council is once again teaming up with Redditch Lions to bring residents and visitors the annual Green Fair and Lion Fun day on Sunday, June 28.

This year, attractions include live music, pony rides, face painting, woodland crafts, circus skills, archery, crazy golf, laser clay shooting, owls, smoothie bike, dancing and a marquee exhibiting local crafts and gifts to name but a few.

There will also be a classic car display with many well known and some more obscure cars of yesteryear on show in their original glory.

There will also be a similar display of Enfield motorbikes.

An exciting event is planned for the main arena with local cadet corps from the army, air force, fire service and police invited to complete challenges, such as a game of tug of war, in a bid to win the Redditch Lions trophy.

Councillor Pat Witherspoon, whose portfolio covers leisure services, said: “Year on year the Green Fair gets bigger and bigger. I’m really looking forward to the cadet challenges which should add an element of exciting competition.

"There’s something for all the family to get involved in so pop down for a fun day out.”

Dave Beech from Redditch Lions, added: “We’re really glad to have teamed up with the borough council again to bring this fantastic event back to Arrow Valley. There’s going to be so much to do, you best get there early so you can enjoy it all.”

There is free admission and car parking at the event as well as a raffle with lots of prizes.

Details of the fair, from 11am until 5pm, can be found on the council website and redditchlions.org.uk.

There is still time for individuals or groups to grab a stall at the event.
