RESIDENTS are being invited to join comedians Tom Allen and Carly Smallman in the Room Upstairs at the Palace Theatre for a brilliant stand-up comedy night.

Tom Allen returned from supporting Sarah Millican on her UK tour, and is performing his new show Life/Style.

His show is about taking whatever life throws at you but still trying to look your best.

Welcome to the world of Tom Allen – where occasional chairs, revolving doors and raised eyebrows are the sparks that take him on a whirlwind of imagination to the depths of insecurity and the beauty of the world he inhabits.

Painting with a fine brush that describes in detail the absurd and the petty, the intricacies of snobbery and petty jealousy, it is escapism into the world around us.

Allen invites you to dance in his mind.

But of course this is a double-bill of comedic personalities.

Carly Smallman is hitting the stage with her show Made In Penge.

The star of ITV2 brings you her smash-hit show straight from the Edinburgh Festival, where it played to packed rooms every day.

Not content with performing at the Hammersmith Apollo, or putting on pop-up comedy shows in her living room, Carly brings a brand new show full of funny songs and stories about romance, online abuse and how to love yourself.

At the start of this year the Penge girl thought she had it all – a new home, a gorgeous boyfriend, and a regular job on Viral Tap (ITV).

But after the first show aired she found herself on the receiving end of some very nasty comments about the way she looks.

So the show is basically about that.

How the things you want sometimes aren’t the things you wanted at all.

How it is possible to fall in love – with yourself.

The show, suitable for those aged 16 plus, is on Friday, June 26 at 7.45pm.

Tickets are available in person or at the box office on 01527 65203 priced £10.75 (£8.75 discount) inclusive of booking fee 75p per ticket up to a maximum £3.
