THE annual bandstand celebrations will be back with a bang next weekend as choirs, singers and dancers take to the stage.

Situated on Church Green, the bandstand will be the centre point for a number of musical events starting with a celebration of local voices on Saturday, June 13 from noon to 4pm.

This event will involve choirs, both young and old, from the across the Redditch area as well as bands and dancing groups.

Children’s activities will also be on offer including a bouncy castle, face painting and art workshops.

Val Wilson, arts and events officer for Redditch Borough Council, said: “The bandstand programme always brings real community spirit with it, with something for everyone to enjoy.

"There is a great line-up of talented performers at our bandstand programme this year.

We’re kicking off with a number of local choirs, brass bands and a special performance from the Kerala Dancers.”

It is free to attend any of the bandstand events, which will take place once a month from June until September.

Outdoor performances are subject to change/cancellation due to adverse weather conditions.
