STAND by for an explosion of sound from some of the best voices from valleys.

The multi-award winning and internationally acclaimed Cwmbach Male Choir will demonstrate their vocal talents at Malvern’s Forum Theatre this Saturday when they appear for the sixth time at the famous Worcestershire venue.

The 60 strong choir will be demonstrating their talents for superb close harmony singing and enhancing their reputation for delivering uplifting hymns and songs at the Forum in an unforgettable feast of music.

The choir has been very successful in the competitive field winning numerous prizes at competitions and Eisteddfods both in their native Wales and across the globe. They have represented their country abroad on several occasions in competitions and conducted extensive tours in countries such as America, Canada, South Africa, across mainland Europe and the Mediterranean islands of Cyprus, Malta and Gozo.

Over the years, the Cwmbach Male Choir has performed in many prestigious venues including the Royal Festival Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, the Barbican, Cardiff’s St David’s Hall, the Nico Malan Opera House Cape Town, the Roy Thompson Hall,Toronto and numerous cathedrals’ worldwide.

hey have also shared the stage with many world famous artists including Paul Robeson, Sir Geraint Evans, Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey and Sir Cliff Richard to name just a few. Recently Darius Campbell, the winner of ITV’s ‘Pop Star to Opera Star’ programme, joined them in concert!

Formed in 1921, the choir is based in Aberdare in the South Wales valleys, where the people’s love of music making is matched only by their love of rugby. It is therefore fitting that some of the choir’s most impressive credits involve their national game.

The Cwmbach Male Choir was the first choir to be invited by the Welsh Rugby Union to perform at the world famous Cardiff Arms Park to entertain the crowd and lead the singing prior to a Four Nations Rugby International.

They have also performed at The Millennium Stadium, most notably ahead of the Wales versus Ireland Six Nations clash in 2005, which saw Wales complete the ‘Grand Slam’. They also had the honour of performing at the final night dinner of the 1999 Rugby World Cup held at the Cardiff International Arena. In February 2010 the choir sang at the 10th anniversary celebrations of the opening of The Stade de France in Paris.

Now celebrating 94 years of continuous music-making the members of Cwmbach Male Choir have travelled the world spreading their love of music everywhere.

The Malvern show (7pm) will once again give the Midlands the chance to enjoy the choir’s passion and vocal abilities when they will cover a range of music to suit all tastes. The choir will be joined on the night by the pupils of Great Malvern Primary School.
