THE search is on to find the funniest and most entertaining folk in Redditch.

Redditch’s Palace Theatre is offering a five week intensive course in stand up comedy.

Led by local impresario Theo Theobald, people will get the chance to experience the adrenaline rush of making an audience laugh.

They will receive five weeks of write-and-rehearse workshops to build skills and boast their confidence followed by a live show in the theatre’s Room Upstairs on Saturday, June 13.

Mr Theobald said: “People sign up for all sorts of reasons.

“It's a good springboard to a comedy career, but we often get business people who use the workshop to increase their confidence.

“Then there are those who've had stand-up on their bucket list for far too long and just fancy giving it a go.”

Former pupils have gone on to perform performing on the Midlands comedy scene with others setting up their own successful comedy nights.

The course, for those aged 16 or over, costs £90 and runs between May 11 and June 8.

Numbers of places are limited.
