REDDITCH'S first vegan fair, taking place tomorrow, comes with a special side dish - a challenge for Parliamentary candidates.

On Saturday, March 14, St Stephen's Church in the town centre will be transformed in to an oasis of healthy, compassionate, planet-friendly living, showcasing the best in veganism.

The organisers of the event, Midlands Vegan Campaigns, have also invited all Redditch parliamentary candidates and set them a vegan challenge.

They are being aksed to sign up to the 30 Day Vegan Pledge, run by the Vegan Society, which hopes to show the benefits of going vegan.

Kevin White, Midlands Vegan Campaigns founder and the Green Party Parliamentary Candidate for Redditch, said: "All are welcome at the event, you don't have to be veggie or vegan to attend.

"We encourage everyone to come and discover why people are increasingly adopting a vegan lifestyle.

"The free fantastic feast will demonstrate how delicious, appetising and varied vegan cuisine has become.

"We promise to tempt the taste buds of even the most committed carnivores."

He added: "I have written to all my fellow candidates inviting them to attend the fair and to taste for themselves how delicious vegan food is."

The fair runs from 10.30am to 4pm.
