THE traditional Bromsgrove Christmas sleigh is set for its tour around the town this month.

Bromsgrove Round Table, a social group for Bromsgrove businessmen, organise the sleigh annually so that Santa can bring festive joy to streets around the town.

During the tour, Bromsgrove Round Table collects money which is donated to local charities.

The tour starts this Thursday, December 11, when the sleigh visits Woodland Grange, Pennine Road and Lea Park Rise from 6.15pm.

On Friday, December 12, from 6.15pm, the sleigh visits Catshill new estate, Lickey End and Townsend Farm.

On Sunday, December 14, Santa will be visiting Finstall Rugby Club from around 3pm, before heading into Stoke Heath.

The sleigh moves on to Rutherford Road and Harwood Park on Tuesday, December 16, from 6.15pm.

From 6.15pm on Wednesday, December 17, the sleigh will go on tour around Charford.

On Thursday, December 18, from 6.15pm, Santa's sleigh will be appearing at Bream Park, Fordhouse Road, Blackwood Road and Bant Mill Road. The tour will then move on to Deansway, Forelands, Hill Top and Greyfriars from 6.15pm on Friday, December 19.

As the round table cannot get around all roads, Father Christmas' sleigh will spend Saturday, December 20, at the town branch of Morrisons, at Buntsford Park.

Father Christmas will be there all day, greeting shoppers and spreading Christmas cheer.

Santa's tour concludes on Sunday, December 21, with a visit to the Oakalls from 4.30pm ahead of the annual carol concert on the estate.

Among the charities being supported this year are the Stroke Association and the Socks and Chocs charity for the homeless.
