AN outstanding string quartet from Poland are making their third visit to Bromsgrove Concerts this weekend in their current winter season of live chamber music concerts.

The Royal Quartet were established at The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in 1998.

Their career took off with the invitation to join BBC Radio 3’s prestigious New Generation Artists scheme.

Since then the group have gone on to earn a world wide reputation as fine interpreters of classical music and champions of new Polish music.

Their programme for Bromsgrove Concerts reflects their reputation as they will be playing great works by Mozart and Beethoven as well as a work special commissioned by the quartet by a living Polish composer Pawel Szymanski.

Bernard Hall-Mancey, secretary of Bromsgrove concerts, said: “We are delighted to welcome The Royal Quartet back to Bromsgrove Concerts on the strength of their previous appearances and are looking forward to a great evening of live music making."

The show, which sees the band flying over to Bromsgrove from Belfast where they are currently quartet in residence at Queen’s University, is on Friday, November 21 starting at 8pm.

Tickets costing £17 (£3 concessions) are available from artrix.co.uk or by calling the box office on 01527 577330.
