YOUNG actors and actresses have the opportunity take a walk on the wild side by auditioning for the Palace Youth Theatre’s (PYT) latest show.

Any young people who enjoy performing or would like to try something new can audition for The Jungle Book which is being put on by PYT in July next year.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, November 29 at the Palace Theatre from 10am until noon. The auditions are open to anyone, including non-members, aged eight-18 years.

Auditionees do not need to prepare anything for the audition but a good knowledge of the tale of Jungle Book - not the Disney version - would be an advantage. The auditions will be workshop style so all auditionees will need to attend the full two hour audition.

Lizzi Sifford, youth theatre and arts officer, said: “We’re looking for a great mix of people to put on this well loved, traditional tale.

"We are very interested to find people with dance, gymnastic and musical experience to help enhance this tale through music and movement.

"It doesn’t matter how much or little experience you have, just come along and give it your best shot.”

In the event of a successful audition, auditionees will need to join PYT’s On Stage group which meets on Wednesday evenings between 6.30pm until 8.30pm at the theatre in Alcester Street. The cost per 10 week term are £129 (non-Reddicard), £86 (Reddicard) or £64.50 (conc Reddicard).

Jungle Book rehearsals will run over two terms during January to March, and April to July. The show week is from July 16-18 and all cast members must attend rehearsals every evening during show week.
