THE Royal Shakespeare Company continues its theme of revealing some of the great parts written for and about women when it stages the latest production of its ‘Roaring Girls’ season at the end of this month.

Next up at Stratford-upon-Avon’s Royal Shakespeare Theatre will Webster’s violent tragedy, The White Devil, which will be directed by Maria Aberg, who returns to the RSC following last year’s vibrant summer production of As You Like It and King John as part of the 2012 World Shakespeare Festival.

Leading the cast is Kirsty Bushell as ‘The White Devil’ Vittoria, and Laura Elphinstone as Vittoria's sister Flamineo. Kirsty was last at the RSC with the 2012 productions of Twelfth Night, The Tempest and The Comedy of Errors.

Music for the play has been composed by David Maclean and Tommy Grace from the band Django Django, whose self-titled debut album released in January 2012 was nominated for the 2012 Mercury Music Prize.

The White Devil will be at Stratford from July 30 to November 29.
