Andrew Grant (the Midland region's leading independent group of Chartered Surveyors, Auctioneers and Estate Agents) have today reported oustanding second quarter results.
David Stuart-Smith - Executive Officer for the group announced that the sales of residential properties throughout the practice are now 53 percent ahead of the equivalent 2008 position.
Mr Stuart-Smith said, "Although, given the deoth of the econpmic recession, this is an amazing result - I find it even more remarkable that our activity levels are only marginally (14 percent) less than the January to June period of 2007.
Because prices in the majority of residential sectors rapidly adjusted to the reduced demand of last year, value for money amongst that housing stock became more attractive and affordable than the investment or rental alternatives."
Mr Stuart-Smith believes that the previous 6 months of consistent improvement has removed the uncertainty and which has been replaced with a marked degree of confidence.
Mr Stuart-Smith concluded that the unfortunate position of the housing market having been in the vanguard of the economic downturn is now historic and it is perfectly consistent and welcome to witness its recovery ahead of other sectors.
