Local lettings agency Shipways in is pleased to report that figures from its parent company Sequence show an increase in rental activity over the summer months.  According to its national data, there has been an 11% increase in the number of viewings of rental homes from June to July this year, and an impressive 15% increase in the number of properties let across the same period.  This surge in activity reflects the strength of the current rental market, and suggests no traditional cooling down of the market over the summer months.*

“Our lettings team here at Shipways have been extremely busy this summer,” says Lettings Manager Tom Hailes.  “Traditionally we see a summer slow down for the housing market, so we are thrilled that we have been able to continue helping so many people over the past few months.  We’ve seen growing numbers of people choosing to rent as a lifestyle choice as well as for the flexibility it offers, and demand for rental accommodation remains very high.  We would urge current and prospective landlords to get in touch and see if we can help them make the most of this upturn.”
